Matthew's mother's side of the family, the Sumner's, threw me a baby shower on Saturday, May 19th. The location was Matthew's Aunt Carol's house (aka Flossy)! She always makes everything so special and so beautiful, and the same was true for my shower. I was still on bed rest, so it was very exciting to be able to get out and dressed up! I was suppose to be in class that day for a Maymester class for my Specialist degree. But, my doctor would not let me go because the drive was too far (Americus) and he didn't want me sitting in those hard chairs for nearly 8 hours. My mama is also in the same class. Until all of this happened with me being in the hospital, she had planned on leaving at lunch so she could come to the shower. Well, since the whole semester is completed in 3 Saturday classes, you can imagine how much material is covered in each class. Plus, my professor was not being very understanding of my condition. So, I told mama it would do me more good if she were to stay at school so she could be there and catch me up on everything.
The shower was perfect! I had a good turn out and we got so many things we really needed! Matthew had been so worried about Sumner not having enough clothes. Well, after the shower he came home to find me and his mama on the living room floor, in the middle of piles and piles of sweet baby clothes! His worries were over! Luckily, all of the clothes were different sizes, so it wasn't like we got too many things in one size that Sumner would never be able to wear! Not only did we get lots of cute clothes, but we also got a lot of practical things we really needed!
Mama came over right after class. She and Mrs. Latrelle helped me to organize everything! I felt so much better having everything put away!
